The ingredients needed to prepare Chinese Lemon Chicken:
- Use 500 g Diced Chicken
- Prepare 6 Large Spring Onions
- Provide 30 ml Sunflower Oil
- Provide 1/2 Bulb Garlic
- You need 1 Cup Chicken Stock
- Prepare Zest 2 Lemons
- Provide Juice of 4 Lemons
- Take 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- Get 1 tsp Cider Vinegar (or any white vinegar)
- Provide 75 ml Pure Natural Maple Syrup (or 16tbs Sugar/Alternative)
- Prepare 300 ml Water
- Provide 4 tbsp Cornflour
- Prepare to taste Pepper
- Prepare Knob Butter
Steps to make Chinese Lemon Chicken:
- Gently fry Chicken and Spring Onions in Oil
- Add Garlic, Stock, Lemon Zest, Lemon Juice, Soy Sauce, Vinegar & Maple Syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- Simmer on low heat for 5-10 mins.
- Mix together Cold Water and Cornflour, then add to simmering pan. Stir and remove from heat when thickened.
- Add Pepper to taste.
- Stir in a knob of butter to add shine.
- Serve with Rice or Noodles of choice (I always opt for Brown Rice varieties)
